Proactive news summary: Ithaca Energy PLC, Ebiquity PLC, Metal Tiger PLC and more

Forbidden Technologies see first paying customers, a coveted milestone for Corero and a turning point for Ithaca Energy.

Forbidden Technologies PLC (LON:FBT) signed up its first paying customers for its consumer-focused video editing suite, Captevate.

While the numbers are modest so far, Forbidden said the percentage of people who start a free trial and then become a paying customer is stable.

The FastJet PLC (LON:FJET) board today responded to claims made by easyGroup earlier this week that the African airline was in breach of the Brand Licence Agreement.

"Having taken legal advice, the Board does not believe fastjet is in breach of the Brand Licence Agreement," it stated.

In other news, Corero Network Security PLC (LON:CNS) said its flagship cyber-security product has passed an industry milestone.

Corero's SmartWall Threat Defense System (TDS) won a coveted "recommended" rating in the recent NSS Labs DDoS prevention group test, with high performance in all test categories against five major rivals.

Ebiquity plc (LON:EBQ) reported a sharp rise in profitability, driving 'strong demand' for its media and marketing analytics services. Underlying pre-tax profit increased almost 65% to £11.2mln on revenues of £76.6mln, up 7.9%.

Over at Vast Resources PLC's (LON:VAST), the mining group’s Romanian subsidiary has been granted a prospecting licence over an extended perimeter at the site of its Manaila Polymetallic Mine.

The award sees the mining licence area extended by an additional 1.323 square kilometres (km2), a more than 20-fold increase in the total prospecting licence area.

Meanwhile, final assays from the fourteenth hole at SolGold’s (LON:SOLG) Cascabel project in Ecuador have confirmed more long stretches of copper and gold.

It says the average width of the Central Deposit is 300m and remains open to the east and north-east.

88 Energy Limited (LON:88E) completed analysis of core samples from the ‘super highway’ zone of the Icewine shale well in Alaska, and is impressed with the results.

Further analysis for permeability was required because prior examination gave readings that were too high to be measured by traditional methods.

Elsewhere, Ithaca Energy (LON:IAE) could be nearing a turning point, according to broker Liberum Capital, which today gives a chunky upgrade to its target price but stopped short of overturning a ‘sell’ recommendation.

Despite the upgrade to 26p from 19p, Liberum’s target remains some way below the North Sea oil field developer’s current market price of 33p.

And finally, Metal Tiger plc (LON:MTR) was keeping it in the family. Dianne Grammer, wife of Metal Tiger chairman Terry Grammer, has bought $250,000 of shares in the natural resources investment company.
