Stocks rally in the afternoon session

The FTSE 100 rallied to finish eight points higher at 6,193, while the two main AIM indices were in positive territory throughout the day.

Stocks picked up in the afternoon session, as investors came to terms with the bomb attacks in Brussels.

The main AIM indices, meanwhile, had been in positive territory throughout the day, with the AIM 100 closing up 19 points at 3,329, while the AIM All-Share finished the day three points firmer at 709.

Kimberly Enterprises NV (LON:KBE) doubled in price as the Eastern European property developer saw the change of control of the company go through.

GBES Limited holds a 21.9% economic interest in Kimberly, the Gabay Group holds a 21.1% economic interest in Kimberly, and Real Property Investment (Guernsey) holds a 6.4% stake.

Meanwhile, chief executive Liron Or has resigned his position and will leave at the end of the month.

DJI Holdings PLC (LON:DJI), the Chinese lottery ticket vendor, shot up 30% to 48p as it announced the launch of the first approved mobile lottery app for the Shandong Sports Lottery.

Super-capacitors specialist Cap-XX Limited (LON:CPX) has signed a technology licence agreement with US manufacturer of electronic passive components and interconnecting solutions AVX Corporation.

AVX is licensing Cap-XX's patents on a non-exclusive basis for a range of prismatic and cylindrical super-capacitor sizes, sending Cap-X's shares 29.5% higher.

Tethys Petroleum Limited (LON:TYS) added 16% to close at 2.9p a pop as the Kazakhstan oil junior confirmed the conversion of debt into equity by its funding partner Oilsol Petroleum.

The conversion is an interim step in a broader funding package agreed recently between the companies.

Haydale Graphene Industries PLC (LON:HAYD) expects recent R&D spending to generate material revenues in the coming year. Income in the half year to December rose to £784,000 (£482,00), while losses were £2mln (£1.57mln).

Shares finished the day 12.1% higher at 125p.

Gulf Marine Services PLC (LON:GMS) sank to 71p from 76.75p after full-year results underwhelmed.

The provider of self-propelled self-elevating support vessels saw underlying earnings (EBITDA) rise 11% to $138.5mln in 2015 from $124.8mln in 2014.

In 2016 EBITDA is expected to be 15 to 20% lower than in 2015 and earnings per share is expected to be some 25 to 30% lower, the company said.
