Descartes hits record for sales and earnings

Services revenues rose 11% to $176.3mln and accounted for 95% of total income of US$185mln

Logistics software specialist Descartes Systems (NASDAQ:DSGX) posted record revenues and underlying earnings in the year just ended, but still slightly missed forecasts.

Services revenues rose 11% to $176.3mln and accounted for 95% of total income of US$185mln in the year to January.

Net income rose 36% to US$20.6mln, up 36% from a year earlier, while earnings per share rose to 0.27c.

For the final quarter, revenues were US$48mln, 8% higher than a year ago while net income rose by 50% to US%5.4mln.

In November, Descartes acquired Oz Development a supplier of application integration software to small and medium-sized business for a net US$29.5mln.

Descartes is based in Waterloo, Ontario.

Shares eased to US$17 in early trading.
