Tangent (LON:TNG), the online printing and digital marketing company, rose over 21% to 2.875p as it withdrew its recommendation for the bid from its management team after it agreed a deal with Writtle Holdings.
Amara Mining (LON:AMA) up over 17% to 12p as it said it was combining with Perseus Mining to create a leading mid-tier West African gold producer.
Big cap miner Anglo American (LON:AAL) already a big gainer this year, added 6.58% to 480.25p.
FALLERS
AstraZeneca (LON:AZN) down 2.32% to 4,107p as the pharma giant entered a licensing deal with in China over hypertension drug Plendil.
ITV (LON:ITV), down 1.35% to 248.6p after Goldman downgraded the independent broadcaster to 'neutral' from 'buy' and cut the target price.
Stratex (LON:STI) down 2.74% to 1.775p as it said it would not invest further into the Muratdere copper gold project in Turkey due to current weak commodity prices.

Genel Energy (LON:GENL), down 26.25p to 92p as it said it expects to record a $1bn impairment on the value of its Taq Taq field for 2015 due to a reduction in recoverable reserves and the lower oil price.
