All the dials continue to point north for housebuilder Bellway (LON:BWY) with sales, prices and orders well ahead in its latest half year.
The market remained buoyant and allied to government support for new housing and the completion of a number of high value London apartments, interim sales should rise by 30% to at least £1.075bn, said the north east -based builder.
The group sold 4,188 (3,754) houses and flats in the six months to January, a near 12% rise, while average prices rose by 17% to a record £257,000.
Orders, meanwhile, now stand at 4,434 homes with a value in excess of £1bn. The landbank also amounts to more than 5400 plots (3,824).
Ted Ayres, chief executive, said it was another strong half year that should result in a substantial rise in earnings.
“The ongoing investment in higher value locations throughout the country has also had a positive effect on the average selling price achieved in the period,”
Customer confidence remained strong, Ayres added.
Shares rose 3% to 2,559p.
