Risers & Fallers: Next, Tern and Reckitt Benckiser...

Those of you who dumped shares of cyber-security group Sophos ahead of today's trading update: good call!

Some movers at around 3pm on Tuesday....

RISERS

Next (LON:NXT), up 2.72% to 6,605p as UK retail sales in January were much stronger than expected.

Tern (LON:TERN), up 25.25% at 15.50p as sUBSidiary Cryptosoft announced a new hire and launched a new security product.

Britvic (LON:BVIC) nudged 0.31% higher at 649.5p as it hired two independent non-executive directors to follow the retirement of Bob Ivell.

FALLERS

Miner Randgold Resources (LON:RRS), down 1.92% to 5,885p after the share surge yesterday on the back of results and a mixed round of analyst commentary this morning.

African Potash (LON:AFPO), down 9.38% to 1.45p as it said payment is still pending for a 20,000 metric tonne fertiliser sale made to a Zambian client.

Reckitt Benckiser (LON:RB) down 0.28% to 5,973p as Jefferies cuts the target price on the shares amid a weak cold and flu market in the US.

-------------------------------------------------

Below are some of the main news-driven share price changes among FTSE 350 companies at 1.00pm.

RISERS

IG Group (LON:IGG), up 2.9%. The spread betting firm loves market volatility, and this week it is getting it in spades.

WPP (LON:WPP), up 1.3%. The advertising and marketing giant's price target has been nudged up by JP Morgan Cazenove to 1,770p from 1,760p.

Randgold Resources (LON:RRS), up 0.8%. Jefferies has cranked up its price target from 4,000p to 5,500p while Nomura has gone for a more modest five quid rise in its target to 4,350p. At the same time, UBS has moved from 'buy' to 'neutral' and HSBC have switched from 'buy' to 'hold'.

FALLERS

Vedanta Resources (LON:VED), down 9.4%. The company has made a change to its offer to holders of its outstanding bonds. The Dutch auction will now allow holders to offer up to US$321.9mln of bonds for repurchase, up from US$250mln previously.

Antofagasta (LON:ANTO), down 9.2%. Goldman Sachs has downgraded the miner from 'neutral' to 'sell'.

Sophos Group (LON:SOPH), down 7.9%. Shares of the cyber-security firm took a battering yesterday for no readily apparent reason, but now it appears that someone, or several people, were taking a flyer on today's trading update not being very good, which it wasn't.

Below are some of the main news-driven share price changes at 10.00am.

RISERS

Circle Holdings (LON:CIRC), up 33.3%. The healthcare group said revenue and underlying earnings in 2015 both exceeded expectations.

RWS Holdings (LON:RWS), up 15.0%. Today's annual general meeting is likely to be a cheery affair, as the patents specialist's chairman, Andrew Brode, is set to tell shareholders that the first three months of the new financial year has seen the company trade ahead of expectations.

ValiRx (LON:VAL), up 13.3%. The company said it is readying to expand the reach of its lead drug, VAL201, to female infertility condition endometriosis. The drug is currently being tested as a treatment for prostate cancer.

FALLERS

Cambian Group (LON:CMBN), down 41.1%. The specialist behavioural health service provider's shares plunged on a profit warning, as the company revealed its cost management processes had failed to identify and manage down costs swiftly enough.

Motive TV (LON:MTV), down 22.2%. Mixed news from the broadcast services provider, as it issued shares to pay down £60k of debt but, given the low share price, the number of shares it had to issue was an eye-watering 1.2 trillion shares.

7digital Group (LON:7DIG), down 13.2%. Having resigned as chief executive officer of Imagination Technologies, Sir Hossein Yossaie has now stepped down from the board of 7digital, where he was a non-executive director.
