Amur Minerals doubles drill capacity to capitalise on Russian summer

“We fully intend to advance the Definitive Feasibility Study as rapidly as possible," said Robin Young, chief executive.

Amur Minerals (LON:AMC) has doubled its drill capacity to speed up exploration of the Kun Manie nickel deposit in Russia.

The aim is to complete a definitive feasibility study at the site as rapidly as possible, it said.

In line with that, it intends to drill 15,000 metres this year, an amoutn that would be the most it has ever managed in a single five month field season.

So far it has drilled 37,443m in total at the deposit in Far East Russia. The new programme will target the Maly Kurumkon/Flangovy and Kubuk zones with drill spots selected in collaboration with consultant SRK.

Robin Young, chief executive, said the decision to double Amur’s drilling and earth moving abilities demonstrates the explorer’s confidence.

“We fully intend to advance the Definitive Feasibility Study as rapidly as possible.

“Importantly, we have the financial resources to implement our strategy and remain on track, going against the current trend of the mining industry."
