Video games services specialist Keywords Studios (LON:KWS) issued an upbeat trading statement on the back of a strong game console market in 2015 and good early signs this year.
Profits and revenues 2015 were well ahead of market forecasts as a result of strong organic growth,
Andrew Day, chief executive, said market share had grown and it had won new clients.
Its traditional business is the translating of video games into local languages, but newer service lines such as customer support and art creation also made good contributions.
Acquisitions during the year included Reverb and Kite Team, which have given Keywords a presence in South America, customer support group Alchemic Dream and Liquid Development to build its art creation presence.
A £10mln placing in November has given it the firepower to complete more deals, Day said.
"We are continuing to pursue the strategy we set out at the time of flotation, but we have a few geographic holes we are keen to plug, one of those obviously is China."
"2015 was a year in which the console game production and publishing cycle flourished and, whilst it remains early in the year, 2016 is showing signs of being another good year for the group, with some early business wins and increasing levels of cross selling emerging from our global sales force."
Day downplayed talk of redirection, stating: "We are not forgetting our core business of translation and localisation testing. You should expect to see from us some acquisition activity fairly widely spread across the board, with a slight issue of trying to address our gap in China."
Harold Evans, analyst at finnCap, was confident that Keywords is "well placed to achieve further organic growth and make further strategic acquisitions." It reiterated a target price of 245p.
