Learning Technologies Group (LON:LTG) has unveiled almost US$30mln of new acquisitions for its e-learning business.

It is to acquire Rustici Software LLC, a software specialist, for US$26mln and it has also agreed to invest US$3mln to gain a 30% stake in a company called Watershed Systems which has developed learning analytics systems.

The deals will be paid for in cash and shares, and the company says they will be immediately and significantly earnings enhancing in 2016 and beyond.

On the other side of the coin, Proxama (LON:PROX) is mulling the sale of its digital payments business after receiving a number of indications of interest.

Negotiations over a sale of the division are underway and are expected to be finalised by the second quarter of 2016.

The disposal would have a material beneficial effect on its balance sheet, Proxama said.

Elsewhere in the software sector, dotDigital (LON:DOTD) told investors that chief financial officer Milan Patel will act as interim chief executive whilst Simone Barratt recovers from surgery.

Barratt underwent surgery, which was successful, in early January and is currently unable to travel into the office during her recovery, the company said. She remains involved in the running of the business, participating remotely.

Elsewhere on the technology front, Hydrogen storage and fuel specialist ITM Power (LON:ITM) is to raise up to £5.85mln to fund its expansion and development plans.

Some £2.1mln will come from a firm placing, with up to a further £3.74mln to come from an open offer backed by major shareholder JCB Research and chief executive Graham Cooley. Terms of the offer are 14 new shares for 100 at 15p.

In the resources sector, Providence Resources (LON:PVR) provided details of the Ruadhan prospect, which is now seen as an opportunity to find additional resources near the Spanish Point discovery.

Cairn Energy, as the operator of Spanish Point, had previously intended to drill a well in 2015 but amid weak oil prices the project was put back until next year.

Ruadhan is a separate project, located in an adjacent exploration area. It was the subject of a 3D seismic survey in 2014, and subsequent analysis of the data has confirmed it as a Base Cretaceous level structure which covers some 36 square kilometres.

Goldplat (LON:GDP) has completed a JORC-compliant resource statement for the tailings storage facility at its gold recovery operations in South Africa.

Applied Geology and Mining carried out the survey and estimated a total of 81,959 ounces of gold, 216,094 ounces of silver and 193,276 pounds of uranium oxide.

Stratex International (LON:STI) has appointed financier and M&A specialist Chris Worcester to as independent non-executive director, with effect from 1 February 2016.
