Below are some of the main news-driven share price changes as at 11:41 a.m. in New York.

Risers

Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) rose 4.5% to $54.39 after the software maker’s earnings topped estimates.

Visa (NYSE:V) advanced 4.7% to $72.61 after the payments technology company’s results late Thursday roughly matched expectations.

MasterCard (NYSE:MA) spiked 4.7% to $87.38, reversing an earlier loss. The card network giant reported its fourth-quarter earnings beat expectations but revenue missed.

Whirlpool (NYSE:WHR) climbed 3.8% to $136.96 after the appliances manufacturer’s earnings came in above expectations.

Fallers

Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) tumbled 8.7% to $580.05 after the e-commerce pioneer posted weaker-than-estimated quarterly earnings.

Chevron (NYSE:CVX) lost 2.2% to $83.67 after the oil major swung to an unexpected fourth-quarter loss.

AbbVie (NYSE:ABBV) sank 4% to $53.60 as U.S. sales growth for its blockbuster arthritis drug Humira slowed.

Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:EA) tanked 8.3% to $63.99. The company’s revenue in the December quarter and projection for the current quarter missed Wall Street projections.
