There was lots going on in the world of mining again today as tungsten producer Premier African (LON:PREM) said it had identified significantly higher amounts of ore at its RHA project in Zimbabwe following a new pit review.
Sector peer Bezant Resources (LON:BZT) has taken ownership of a string of alluvial platinum licenses in Columbia as it looks to establish a low cost, recoverable platinum district outside of South Africa.
Meanwhile, Eurasia Mining (LON:EUA) is on track to produce its first platinum of the year from its alluvial project West Kytlim in Russia.
Sirius Minerals (LON:SXX) is confident that the final definitive feasibility study (DFS) for the proposed York Potash mine will confirm it as a “world class project” but has delayed the release date until the end of March. “We thank our shareholders for their patience as we finalise the DFS and look forward to announcing its findings in due course." said managing director Chris Fraser.
Aureus Mining (LON:AUE, TSE:AUE) needs more time too. The west African gold producer agreed with its lenders to defer the first debt repayment, due 31 January, while talks take place to discuss an appropriate debt repayment schedule.
Elsewhere, Yan Liu, chief executive of Range Resources (LON:RRL) has stepped down. The oil and gas exploration company saw production fall 5% to 547 barrels per day in the three months to December due to a lack of new wells and a natural decline in existing wells.
Above ground, it's good news for life sciences firm Scancell (LON:SCLP), as its half-year results track an “exciting transformation”. The company is developing drugs that use the body’s own immune system to battle cancer.
In the tech sector, online sourcing specialist blur Group (LON:BLUR) reported higher levels of activity in the key enterprise business segment. Enterprise projects made up 66% of all projects in the last quarter, as the group focused on acquiring loyal, repeating customer accounts.
And finally, internet domains group Minds + Machines (LON:MMX) plans to expand into China. It told investors it is now working with registry services company ZDNS. Mao Wei, director of ZDNS said: “Minds + Machines has demonstrated itself to be an organisation of the highest integrity partnering with major cities and commercial organisations globally.”
