Experienced specialist Russell Hubbard has been hired as the global head of aircraft trading, said leasing firm Avation (LON:AVAP).
Hubbard has 30 years' experience of commercial craft, most recently at Hong Kong Aviation Capital and GAAM.
Executive chairman of Avation Jeff Chatfield told investors in a brief statement: "The aircraft trading process is an integral part of the capital renewal process of publicly owned aircraft lessors such as Avation.
"Mr. Hubbard has extensive aircraft trading experience as well as that in aircraft value appraisals. This appointment completes a search process that lasted several months."
Earlier this month, Chatfield showed his faith in the company by spending just over £180,000 on stock, bringing his total to just under 10.4mln shares – the equivalent of 20.2%.
Also executive director Roderick Mahoney acquired 20,000 shares through the market at the same price paid by his chairman.
The firm has completed a series of aircraft leasing deals recently and has ambitious growth plans.
