Distil revenue jumps 71% in fourth quarter

"Our brands continue to gain consumer following in major markets and we are delighted with the performance from new listings,” said Don Goulding, executive chairman.

Alcoholic drinks firm Distil (LON:DIS) revealed revenues increased by 71% in the three months to the end of December.

The owner of the Blavod Black Vodka and Blackwoods Gin told investors that the improved growth was due to a shift in the product sales mix, mainly in Eastern Europe, towards 'own sales' rather than licensed sales.

It also highlighted that the performance came despite a slowdown in sales in Blavod and Blackwoods in the Duty Free market and Ukraine, though said that the brand performed well in the USA where it was recently re-entered.

"Our brands continue to gain consumer following in major markets and we are delighted with the performance from new listings,” said Don Goulding, executive chairman.

“Despite highly competitive market conditions over Christmas our brands grew in volume and revenue.

“We continued to increase our brand marketing investment to build consumer awareness and trial in support of wider availability to the consumer.”
