PureTech Health (LON:PRTC) said on Friday that its operating company Akili Interactive Labs has raised US$30.5mln in new investments.
The company said it will use the new funds to develop its late-stage products and build up for a potential US launch next year.
PureTech invested US$22mln in the financing, and expects to have a 63% stake in Akili as a result.
Broker Liberum said PureTech was joined by “two quality third party investors” JAZZ Venture Partners and Canepa Advanced Healthcare Fund.
Akili is developing digital medicine products for ADHD and other cognitive disorders including making monitors, designed to function as action video games.
Liberum said: “In our view this provides further third party validation of the major opportunity at Akili which we estimate PureTech values at just US$90mln (gross, after the investment) but which, as previously highlighted, we think could ultimately be worth >US$2bn if efficacy and pricing turn out to be robust.”
Shares in PureTech were up 2% at 151p by lunch.
