UPDATE - Alliance Pharma sales rise 10% as acquisitions pull weight

Group revenue for 2015 was £48.2 mln (£43.5mln), up 10%

-- adds broker comment, share price --

Pharmaceutical products group Alliance Pharma (LON:APH) said profits this year are on track, with annual sales 10% higher.

Group revenue for 2015 was £48.2mln (2014: £43.5mln), which included £0.8mln from the range of 27 products recently acquired for £132mln from Sinclair IS.

Most of the improvement, though, came from macular eye disease treatment MacuShield, which was acquired in early February, and Hydromol.

Sales of Macushield totalled £3.5mln, while eczema treatment Hydromol continued its recent strong performance with sales 10% higher at £6.6mln.

Vitamin supplement Forceval also did well, with revenues jumping 40% to £2.2mln.

These products helped offset the £1.6mln loss of income from nine products handed back to Novartis and the steady fall in sales of Nu-Seals, where sales dropped to £1.9mln from £2.5mln as generic competition in Ireland increased.

Alliance added the integration of the Sinclair range was going well, with costs of £2mln in line with expectations and to be taken in the 2015 results.

Numis said expects adjusted profits for 2015 of £11.4m, up 5%.

MacuShield should maintain its strong growth as its global reach expands, while Diclectin for pregnancy-induced nausea and vomiting should be launched in the UK in the second half of 2016. This may become a significant product longer term as there are limited options available.

Shares eased 0.8p to 48.2p.
