Comtech Telecommunications has received a US$3.4mln order for amplifiers to be used in an in-flight connectivity application.

Comtech Telecommunications (NASDAQ:CMTL), via a subsidiary, has received a US$3.4mln order for amplifiers to be used in an in-flight connectivity application.

This order is a follow-on production award in a growing commercial airborne market, the tech firm said.

Dr Stanton Sloane, Comtech chief executive, said: "Connectivity is fundamental to modern life.

"New technologies continue to drive the communications landscape and passengers are demanding improved connectivity while flying.

Comtech has developed industry-leading airborne amplifier technology to deliver superior high-speed communication services to the traveling public.”

Comtech amplifiers are available for fixed and ground-based, ship-board, and airborne mobile applications.

The group operates via three segments - telecommunications transmission, RF microwave amplifiers and mobile data communications.
