Caledonia Mining (LON:CMCL) up 7.4% to 43p. The firm forecast a sharp rise in annual production next year accompanied by a fall in costs.It is expecting output from the Blanket mine in Zimbabwe to rise 17% to 50,000 ounces of gold metal as it accesses new ore bodies via its No 6 Winze Project in the middle of 2016.
Patagonia Gold (LON:PGD) up 7.1% to 1.88p. The company said it expects the earn-in agreement with Trilogy Mining on two plots in Uruguay will be entered into by the end of the month.
Royal Mail (LON:RMG) up 1.3% to 443p. City analysts have delivered upgrades on the firm, with Barclays Capital lifting its recommendation to ‘overweight’ from ‘equal weight’, and setting a price target of 575p which is some 29% above the current share price of 444p. Elsewhere, Cantor Fitzgerald says the privatised postal group is now a ‘buy’.
FALLERS
Abzena (LON:ABZA) down 7.2% to 57p. The life sciences firm said Gilead Sciences, a firm using its technology, is stopping its Phase II clinical study of the investigational monoclonal antibody, simtuzumab, in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
Northcote Energy (LON:NCT) down 7.1% to 0.07p. Finance director Daniel Jorgensen has now stepped down, as part of a planned restructuring.
ARM Holdings (LON:ARM) down 3% to 973p. The company, which designs semiconductors that are used in Apple's iPhones, dropped after a report said the tech giant is expected to reduce the number of iPhone 6s and 6s Plus models by around 30% in the January-March quarter.

APC Technology (LON:APC) up 16.4% to 10.6p.The firm announced this morning that its LED lighting division Minimise Group has won several major contracts worth a total of £1.15mln.
Midatech Pharma (LON:MTPH) up 13.5% to 201p. The fast growing drug delivery group pleased the market with an upgraded revenue forecast, as its paediatric brain tumour treatment was chosen for a programme by the Bristol Royal Infirmary.
Serabi (LON:SRB) up 9% to 3p. The Brazil-focused goldminer has made an initial US$2mln draw down of its short term loan facility of US$5mln gthat has been provided by Fratelli Investments.
FALLERS
Vast Resources (LON:VAST) down 7.3% to 0.95p. The firm has raised the further £500,000 required for the £5mln financing agreement announced earlier this week.
BHP Billiton (LON:BLT) down 6.6% to 696p. Chinese services data reinforced fears of an economic slow-down in the People's Republic, while news that North Korea has successfully tested a nuclear bomb added to global jitters, sending stocks, particularly the miners, lower.
Aureus Mining (LON:AUE) down 5.9% to 6p. The company has wrapped up its purchase of a trio of explorations licences close to its New Liberty Gold Mine in North West Liberia.

African Potash (LON:AFPO) up 17.1% to 2p. The firm was AIM's top riser as it revealed it had sent the first 20,000 tonnes of fertiliser under a landmark trade - its first from the COMESA agreement, which will provide it with US$10.16mln of gross revenue.
Sula Iron & Gold (LON:SULA) up 14.5% to 0.3p. Chief executive Nick Warrell is excited by new results from the Ferensola gold project, in Northern Sierra Leone, as they have exceeded his “best expectations”.
Corero Network (LON:CNS) up 13.6% to 18.7p. The company announced its second tier-one internet service provider order in as many months underlining the significant traction of its technology.
Akers Biosciences (LON:AKR) up 12.3% to 105p. Leslie Akers, the wife of executive chairman Raymond Akers Jr, bought 2,1000 shares at US$1.34 per share.
FALLERS
Home Retail (LON:HOME) down 3.5% to 134p. Some profit taking following yesterday’s spike on the news that Sainsbury’s made an offer for the firm at the end of last year that was rebuffed.
