Corero Network Security (LON:CNS) announced its second tier-one internet service provider order in as many months underlining the significant traction of its technology.
The order, worth US$700,000 is for its SmartWall Threat Defense System, which protects against cyber attack, and is the group's first entry into the Tier 1 European market.
It comes on the heels of a first order last month from an unnamed North American Tier 1 ISP (Internet Service Provider).
Tier-one companies are generally the largest internet providers in a particular region and as such there are only a few of them around the world so these wins are real milestones for the group.
In today's deal, Corero will provide in-line, real-time Distributed Denial of Service, or DDoS for short, as a service for one of the ISP's high profile customers.
The solution comprises Corero SmartWall TDS products deployed at diverse network access locations with supporting SecureWatch services for a three-year period.
DDoS attackers overwhelm their online target with traffic from multiple sources, knocking it out and with increasingly more cloud computing, the number of targets has grown exponentially, while raids on networks are becoming more prevalent.
Corero chief Ashley Stephenson said today: "This order is truly a landmark deal for Corero, representing the company's first entry into the European Tier 1 ISP market and its largest SmartWall sales order to date.
"It follows the announcement of our first North American Tier 1 ISP deal last month and is further validation of our strategy to invest in the technically demanding but high growth service provider security market.
"This is not a trial or Proof of Concept but a fully operational DDoS protection service, managed by the provider on behalf of its customer.
"We look forward to pursuing additional DDoS protection service deployments with this Tier 1 provider and other leading ISP's across Europe."
Yesterday, Corero said it had won a significant order, worth over US$400,000, for its SmartWall Threat Defense System (TDS) from a US web site hosting company.
It was the group's largest single hosting provider deployment in its history and follows a successful proof of concept (POC) trial during which the company was able to demonstrate the effectiveness of its technology.
