Below are the main news-driven share price movements at 3.30pm.

RISERS

Evgen Pharma (LON:EVG) up 6.9% to 23p. The company hired Dr Hamina J Patel as chief medical officer. Dr Stephen Franklin, chief executive, said: “Her appointment strengthens the core team at Evgen and will be of great value in the delivery of our upcoming Phase II clinical trials in metastatic breast cancer and in subarachnoid haemorrhage, both of which are on track to begin this year."

Randgold Resources (LON:RRS) up 4.25% to 4,319p. The price of gold rebounded on Monday after disappointing data in China was released. The Caixin Purchasing Managers’ Index had a reading of 48.2 for December, the tenth reading in a row below 50. Gold, traditionally seen as a safe haven in times of economic strife, rose US$17, or 1.6%, to US$1,078.

FALLERS

Work group (LON:WORK) down 27.2% to 2p. Rose Colledge resigned from the board of the recruitment firm following the sale of its operating business.

Standard Chartered (LON:STAN) down 4% to 540p. Stocks with reliance on Asian consumption, such as the Asia-focused bank Standard Chartered, were knocked by downbeat manufacturing data in China, which prompted officials to suspend trading in Shanghai.

Below are the main news-driven share price movements at 1pm.

RISERS

Zambeef Products (LON:ZAM) up 10.5% to 9.25p. Two non-executive directors bought a combined total of 12 mln shares last Wednesday at 7.95p each.

Gulfsands (LON:GQX) up 10% to 4.1p. The firm secured an extension to its exploration licence for the Chorbane field in Tunisia, which is hoped to attract interest from potential joint venture partners.

Nighthawk Energy (LON:HAWK) up 8.3% to 1.3p. The US oil and gas company secured another extension on the renegotiation of its reserve-based loan facility.

Solo Oil (LON:SOLO) up 6.5% to 0.33p. The group of small oil companies driving the Horse Hill oil project, near Gatwick airport, have been cleared to carry out production testing. UK Oil & Gas Investments, a 20% stakeholder, this morning confirmed that the UK regulator the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) had granted consent for the proposed testing and all necessary permissions are now in place.

FALLERS

PeerTV (LON:PTV) down 12.5% to 1.75p. The company issued 2.5mlon shares at 1.96p per share to raise £50,000 as part of the repayment of a revolving financing facility which previously stood at £90,000.

Below are the main news-driven share price movements at 10am.

RISERS

Bagir Group (LON:BAGR) up 26.7% to 4.7p. The suit maker has reached an agreement with its banks, Leumi Bank and Discount Bank, to an extend its repayment scheduled on its debts by three years and the waiving of certain financial covenants. Eran Itzhak, chief executive, said: “This provides us with increased financial security as we continue to seek to rebuild the company."

Vast Resources (LON:VAST) up 18.7% to 0.95p. Shares surged in early deals as it unveiled a financing deal with investor Crede to raise up to £5mln to further development in Romania.

Anglo American (LON:AAL) down 7.2% to 277p and Glencore (LON:GLEN) down 6.1% to 84.9p. Once again the mining sector – with its reliance on Asian consumption – has knocked by downbeat manufacturing data in China, which prompted officials to suspend trading in Shanghai.
