It's been a busy year for fuel cell specialist AFC Energy (LON:AFC) and 2016 looks equally as exciting, it told investors in a quarterly newsletter.
As reported earlier this month, pre-commissioning of the Stade facility in Germany with all 24 fuel cell cartridges of the KORE now installed has started ahead of commissioning the full system in January next year.
Meanwhile, the firm expects to make further announcements next year following a visit to South Korea last month, where interest in the technology remains strong.
In November, the firm agreed in principle to work with Dubai-based Dutco on the large-scale deployment of fuel cells across the Middle East. They will work on a business plan to define a commercial strategy ahead of what is expected to be the formation of a joint venture between the two companies across the Arab states."
"....this could present an opportunity on its own to deliver a large percentage of AFC's targeted generation capacity over the next few years," chief executive Adam Bond told the newsletter.
He added: "There are a number of additional opportunities currently being explored internationally with prospective "early adopter" partners and with the commencement of operations in Germany early next year, we expect this level of interest to remain strong.
"As 2015 comes to a close, we can be proud of what AFC Energy has achieved in the past 12 months and look forward to an exciting 2016," added Bond.
Shares were unchanged at 23.375p a pop.
