Sound Energy (LON:SOU) has started work to connect its onshore Nervesa well to Italy’s national gas export pipeline.
The work is expected to take 40 days and commercial production to commence once it is hooked up.
Sound signed a gas sales agreement with Shell Energy Italia in August.
Shell Energy Italia is the local arm of the Anglo –Dutch oil major’s trading entity in Europe and the agreement includes a pricing mechanism that enables Sound to manage its risk/reward balance.
SNAM, Italy’s gas grid owner, has completed its work adjacent to the site and is now ready to receive gas under the Shell agreement.
