Kicking off with the pharma space, where Med-tech firm ANGLE (LON:AGL) has passed a major milestone by making its first sale of its breakthrough Parsortix system, which is able to detect tiny circulating tumour cells that provide tell-tale signs of cancer.

No financial details were given, but the AIM-listed innovator did said the deal had been struck to use the technology in research.

Elsewhere, Motif Bio (LON:MTFB) revealed clinical trial supplies in the form of sterile ampoules of its iclaprim antibiotic have been manufactured.

Following quality assurance release, the supplies will be shipped to clinical trial sites, where tests will assess iclaprim in cases of acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSI).

Meanwhile, ImmuPharma (LON:IMM) was host to 70 investigators and senior coordinators from the US and Europe who will be involved in the pivotal phase-III trial of Lupuzor, a potentially breakthrough treatment for the auto-immune disease Lupus.

Paragon Diamonds (LON:PRG) is to negotiate directly with the Government of Lesotho to keep its proposed acquisition of the Mothae kimberlite resource alive.

IronRidge Resources (LON:IRR) has unearthed a high-grade Direct Shipping Ore bauxite deposit at its Monogorilby project in Queensland, Australia.

Cost cutting measures by Uruguay-focused Orosur Mining (LON:OMI, TSX:OMI) are paying off - as it unveiled improved operating metrics in its latest quarter.

In the energy sector, 88 Energy (LON:88E) has confirmed the presence of what it described as persistent oil shows though the HRZ shale formation, the primary target of the Icewine-1 exploration well onshore Alaska.
