ImmuPharma (LON:IMM) was host to 70 investigators and senior coordinators from the US and Europe who will be involved in the pivotal phase-III trial of Lupuzor, a potentially breakthrough treatment for the auto-immune disease Lupus.
The event, held in Paris on December 11 and 12, featured a presentation by key opinion leaders in the field of Lupus such as Dr Daniel Wallace, of the world renowned Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, and a principal investigator for the study.
The meeting was introduced by Fanny Valleix, ImmuPharma’s head of clinical research, while Professor Sylviane Muller, the inventor of Lupuzor, presented on the drug’s origins, its unique mechanism of action with data on the compound’s strong safety and efficacy profile.
Chairman Tim McCarthy said: “This auspicious event brought together some of the most important specialists and investigators in the field of Lupus.
“The enthusiasm which everybody displayed within the meeting was truly overwhelming and demonstrates how important this Lupuzor trial is to so many people who are involved in bringing an effective treatment to Lupus patients around the world.
“As a further key milestone accomplished and the first US sites now opened for recruitment of Lupus patients, we look forward to providing further positive updates on this Lupuzor Phase III study as it progresses.”
