Proactive news highlights: Goldplat, Proxama, IOG. Galasys, CloudTag and more

Abzena, Keras and North River Resources also had news out on Friday

There were a few pharma stocks reporting on Friday, with Abzena (LON:ABZA) confirming the completion of its acquisition of The Chemistry Research Solution (TCRS).

The acquisition of TCRS, a contract chemistry and bioconjugation business, last month and it believes the deal will enable it to combine its technology with a strong manufacturing base.

Elsewhere in the healthcare space, Constellation Healthcare (LON:CHT) has struck a deal to acquire MDRX Medical Billing, an American hospital and private practice support services group.

The deal is supported by a share placing which is raising £30mln (US$45mln), with 16.4mln new shares issued to new and existing institutional investors at a price of 160p.

To health-tech and Wearable tech firm CloudTag (LON:CTAG) has signed up fitness expert Jessie Pavelka as its new global brand ambassador.

Surgical Innovations (LON:SUN), the medical technology group, saw shares move higher as its finance chief did a U-turn on leaving and it has extended its banking facilities.

In the mining arena, African Potash (LON:AFPO) struck a first trade deal with Windmill - a private fertiliser producer in Southern Africa - expected to bring in net revenue of US$300,000.

Meanwhile, metallurgical testing from Armadale Capital's (LON:ACP) Mpokoto project in the DRC has reconfirmed the group's planned proccessing route, it said today.

Goldplat (LON:GDP) has opened a shotblast facility at its gold recovery operation in Ghana, GRG.

The activity is new for GRG and will generate additional revenue for the business, said Goldplat, with feed materials already being taken in from third parties.

Mining junior Ferrex (LON:FRX) announced it would be changing its name to Keras Resources, with a new stock market symbol of KRS, with effect from Monday December 14.

In board-related news, Premier African’s (LON:PREM) chief executive George Roach has taken his stake in the fledgling tungsten group to just under 30% with conversion of another chunk of debt.

Elsewhere, North River Resources (LON:NRRP) has strengthened its senior management with the appointment ofindustry veteran Rod Beddows as chairman.

In tech news, Proximity marketing specialist Proxama (LON:PROX) has signed a two-year contract with a North American bank to establish 10,000 mobile touch points across the US and Canada.

Jon Worley, the head of Proxama’s marketing division, said to his knowledge it was the first large scale network of its kind in the banking sector.

Meanwhile, amusement park ticket specialist Galasys (LON:GLS) said the court hearing in regards to its boardroom changes has been adjourned until January.

Technology firm Arria NLG (LON:NLG) said it is positioned to ‘accelerate growth’ following a year in which it has shored up its finances and expanded its base outside the oil and gas sector.

In other news, European Wealth’s (LON:EWG) turnover this year is running behind expectations despite funds under management hitting record levels.

Investment group Leni Gas Cuba (ISDX:CUBA) posted its first set of annual results as it looks to exciting times ahead on the island.

S&U (LON:SUS) revealed in a stock market statement that chairman Anthony Coombs had purchased 1,000 of the company’s shares at a price of £24.05 each. It takes his holdings in the company to 11.2%.

Finally, Independent Oil & Gas (LON:IOG) has agreed an additional loan, of £800,000, from London Oil & Gas which is one of the two parties to fund the Skipper appraisal well.
