Versarien (LON:VRS) is confident it is well placed to capitalise on the opportunities in the emerging advanced materials market.
The company has been increasing investment to accelerate the development of its technologies, and notably its graphene production operation is currently scaling up following a confirmation of its commercial manufacturing method and patent protection.
In this morning’s interim results statement the company also highlighted that its e-commerce web site recently launched for the sale of graphene products, and it has also launched a new graphene oxide product.
Meanwhile, sales of the group’s air-cooled heat sinks (used to cool processors) continue in North America where a distribution partner is now supplying 49 new customers.
Neil Ricketts, Versarien chief executive, said: "The first six months have seen Versarien progress on a number of fronts across our three businesses.
“We have been busy scaling up this production to commercially viable levels of graphene nano-platelets and this has culminated in the launch of a dedicated e-commerce web site in addition to our blue chip enquiries.
“With the supply of high quality graphene in reasonable volume we can start to unlock the potential of this wonder material.”
The company reported group revenue for the six months, to September 30, had been broadly maintained at £2.4mln, from £2.5mln in the same period of 2014, and it reported a £0.81mln loss for the period.
At the end of the financial period the company had net assets of £6.6mln, including £2.6mln of cash.
