Proactive news highlights: IOG, Motif Bio, allergy Therapeutics, ReNeuron, Immupharma and more

We start in the world of oil, where the big news was that Independent Oil and Gas (LON:IOG) secured funding for an appraisal well on the Skipper field in the North Sea.

GE Oil & Gas (£2mln) and London Oil and Gas (£2.75mln) have agreed loans of £4.75mln in total with warrants.

Elsewhere, KrisEnergy (SGX:SK3) announced that its KS Java Star jack-up rig has started drilling at the Mustika-1 exploration well in Indonesia.

Targeting the Kujung I formation, drilling is expected to last around 20 days and will reach a depth of 3,100 feet.

Northern Petroleum (LON:NOP) raised just under £400,000 from the open offer that accompanied its recent £1.2mln share subscription.

Some 13.2mln shares were applied for at 3p per share through the open offer, with 4mln of those excess applications.

Directors and management applied for 1.85mln open offer shares including excess applications.

In the pharma space, Stem cell specialist ReNeuron (LON:RENE) has started recruitment for the US Phase I/II trial for its treatment for eyesight loss condition retinitis pigmentosa.

Similarly, The first US sites are now open to recruit patients for the pivotal phase III clinical trial of Lupuzor, drug developer ImmuPharma (LON:IMM) told investors this morning.

Meanwhile, Antibiotic developer Motif Bio (LON:MTFB) has been selected to present at the prestigious Biotech Showcase 2016, in January in San Francisco.

Life sciences firm OptiBiotix Health (LON:OPTI) has raised £1.5mln in a placing to develop its growing business further.

Hay fever vaccine specialist Allergy Therapeutics (LON:AGY) has enrolled its first patients in a US phase II trial of its grass allergic rhinitis product GMM.

Collagen Solutions (LON: COS) has started supplying BBI Solutions with medical grade material to support the latter’s research and development programmes.

To mining- where Sunrise Resources (LON:SRES) staked claims over a second industrial minerals project - a pozzolan project - in Nevada, USA.

It comes after the group said last week it had leased out its County Line Diatomite claims to EP Minerals for 25 years.

Elsewhere, Stratmin Global (LON:STGR), London's only listed graphite firm, unveiled plans to increase production in Madagascar via a new processing plant as it continues to optimise operations there.

It came in a comprehensive update of progress from the firm in the last five months and a look ahead.

Tungsten group W Resources (LON:WRES) says it's delighted with latest drill results from La Parrilla project in Spain, which beat expectations and will improve mine planning next year.

In the tech space, BATM Advanced Communications (LON:BVC) delivered a double dose of good news to the market this morning.

Along with formalising the commercial phase for a state-of-the-art diagnostic, it announced the US$1mln extension to the cyber security contract.

In other news, Active Energy (LON:AEG) told investors it expects to ship over 220,000 tonnes from its wood fibre business this year - a 43% increase on the 154,103 tonnes achieved in 2014 as it reported progress across all operating divisions.

Finally, clean fuel company ITM Power (LON:ITM) has signed a deal with civil engineering group Ove Arup & Partners to roll out hydrogen refuelling stations.

The pair will identify opportunities to deploy refuelling stations and energy storage systems using ITM's energy storage and refuelling technology.
