US stocks are expected to add to be in wait-and-see mode, ahead of two scheduled speeches today by Federal Reserve chair Janet Yellen.
Yellen will speak twice in Washington DC and is also due to testify before a Congressional panel on Thursday.
Tech shares could be in focus, with Internet portal Yahoo! (NASDAQ:YHOO) rumored to be contemplating its core Internet business and Twitter (NYSE:TWTR) dealing with the news that co-founder Evan Williams has sold 1.85mln shares in the social media pioneer.
Spread betting quotes indicate the Dow will open down two or three points while the S&P 500 will edge up less than a point from last night's close 2,103.
