Goldstone Resources soars as Metal Tiger moves in

Shares soared by more than a third but are still down sharply year-to-date

Shares in Goldstone Resources (LON:GRL) rose by more than a third on Tuesday Morning as investment company Metal Tiger (LON:MTR) was revealed as a shareholder.

Goldstone revealed that Metal Tiger has 2.1mln shares, giving it a 3.37% stake in the junior gold explorer, which also counts Stratex (LON:STI) as a shareholder with a notifiable interest – 33.5% at the last count.

Last week Goldstone announced the appointment of Kerry Parker as a non-executive director, replacing Andrew McIlwain as Unity Mining's representative on the board. Unity Mining is Goldstone's second largest shareholder, and McIlwain stepped down from the Goldstone board after relinquishing the positions of managing director and chief executive officer at unity.

Shares in Goldstone were up 35.8% at 1.53p in lunchtime trading.
