RISERS

Avocet Mining (LON:AVM) up 19%. The company said its subsidiary Société des Mines de Bélahouro has secured a short-term loan of around US$8.2mln with Coris Bank International to cover working capital shortages at its Inata mine in Burkina Faso.

Cyan Holdings (LON:CYAN) up 16.4%. The firm won a £500,000 commercial smart metering contract in India. It will provide more than 13,000 smart meters and the associated hardware and software under the contract, with the first meters expected to be installed and commissioned in the first half of 2016.

Independent Resources (LON:IRG) up 16%. A private investor, Abdelatif Lachab, has taken a 3.3% stake in the company, after buying 11.2mln shares

FALLERS

Stock Spirit (LON:STCK) down 23%. The firm dropped its full-year earnings guidance to between €50mln and €54mln from €60mln to €68mln after sales fell in Poland.

Webis (LON:WEB) down 16.7%. Sales were higher, but so were costs. It meant, including the one-off costs associated with restructuring, the closure of its sportsbook and discontinued operations, the company made a loss of US$2mln from a US$500,000 profit the year before.

Rurelec (LON:RUR) down 8.8%. At its general meeting, all resolutions were voted down, meaning the proposed open offer will not be taking place. The company is looking for alternate methods of funding.

RISERS

Zincox (LON:ZOX) up 5%. The zinc recycler has agreed to restructure its debts with partner Korea Zinc Company, the first stage of a refinancing that will include raising equity funds. Korea Zinc lent Zincox US$57mln through offtake and development loans to build its first recycling plant, with the money scheduled to be repaid from cashflow generated by the facility.

Cranswick (LON:CWK) up 4.1%.Buoyant demand for pork and poultry products helped the food group to serve up tastier half-year revenue and profits. Cranswick said volumes increased strongly across most of its product areas in the six months to September 30. The UK pig price fell 2% during the period and was on average 18% lower than at the same time last year.

FALLERS

Aberdeen Asset Management (LON:ADN) down 4.1%. The investment manager reported solid profit in its last financial year, but weak investor sentiment towards Asia and the emerging markets weighed on the results. There were heavy net outflows hitting assets under management. Pre-tax profit fell to £353.7mln last year, compared with £354.6mln the year before.

BHP Billiton (LON:BLT) 4%. The Brazilian Federal Government and some state governments are to start legal proceedings against the company and partner Vale for clean-up costs and damages relating to the pair's tailings dam bursting at its Samarco site. It is expected that they will ask a fund to be set up of around US$5.2bn at current exchange rates. The company has not received a formal notice of action yet.

Vast Resources (LON:VAST) up 16.2%. The firm has had the proposed merger between two of its Romanian subsidiaries confirmed by the Appeal Court of Cluj.

French Connection (LON:FCCN) up 11.9%. The fashion house had a better than expected winter, with like-for-like sales 6% ahead of last year, as it plans to shut down more stores, including the one of Regent Street.

APC Technology (LON:APC) up 10.1%. The electronics component supplier has inked £5mln worth of deals in the first quarter of the year. Its components division secured £3.5mln while its Minimise Water has won £1.5mln.

FALLERS

Aureus Mining (LON:AUE) 38.1%. The company has secured US$21.5mln in debt and equity funding that will allow the acceleration of mining at its New Liberty operation in Liberia.

Craven House Capital (LON:CRV) up 32.1%. The firm’s net asset value fell to £4.7mln from £5.5mln in the year to May due to the write down of Pressfit Holdings, which was listed and subsequently de-listed from AIM over the year.

Plant Health Care (LON:PHC) down 7%. The company and Arysta LifeScience have mutually agreed to terminate the product development and license agreement they had in place.
