Tuesday's followed - EasyJet and tumble driers

A look at which news stories are trending across webworld today....

As news of another plane coming down percolates through the wires, budget carrier EasyJet (LON:EZJ) confirmed it had cancelled all flights to and from Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt until January 6.

The London-listed firm had already cancelled all outgoing flights up to November 25, but has been returning holiday makers from the resort and this represents a further extension.

The flights were stopped after a Russian airplane went down on Saturday, October 31 killing all 224 people on board.

EasyJet shares are down around 3% at the time of writing to 1,596p.

It was one of the trending stories in webworld today as news also emerged that Turkish forces have reportedly shot down a Russian military jet on the border with Syria.

Many a holidaymaker has probably looked out of an aeroplane window to see the name Rolls Royce (LON:RR.) etched on an under-wing engine. The engineering giant was also in focus today as it is planning a major shake-up to revive its fortunes that may include thousands of job cuts.

The company on Tuesday unveiled a review of its business designed to combat falling demand in areas such as marine power and maintenance of older jet engines. Shares nudged up a tad - 0.7% - however.

So it's certainly not all fluff today - or is it?

Also doing the rounds is a story on tumble driers posing a fire risk. The BBC reports that a "significant" number of dryers sold in the last 11 years may need to be repaired.

Brands include Hotpoint and Indesit, which said excess fluff could catch the heating element in the machine and cause a fire and is recalling many dryers bought between 2004 and 2015.

Also making moves today was another online food delivery firm - London based Deliveroo, which has brought in an impressive US$100mln in investment to continue growth in Asia, Australia and the Middle East.

Deliveroo is already found in 50 cities across 12 countries and is now starting a service in Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Melbourne and Sydney.

Kefi Minerals (LON:KEFI) shot up over 16% as it said it had conditionally raised around £2.6 million to begin steps to develop the Tulu Kapi gold project in western Ethiopia.
