Cancer drug developer ValiRx (LON:VAL) is close to completing the dose escalation part of its Phase l/ll trial for advanced prostate cancer compound VAL201.
No significant adverse effects were recorded, it said, with other measurements comparable to pre-clinical results.
Next steps will be a trial expansion phase, which will include centres in addition to UCH in London.
During this part of the trial, the primary and secondary outcomes will be further refined and results relating to the applicability and efficacy of the treatment will be expanded.
ValiRx also recently appointed Clinical Accelerator to carry out the phase II trial on VAL401 for treatment of metastatic Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC).
“The preparatory clinical process is proceeding according to timetable and it is anticipated that the trial will begin recruitment during the earlier part of 2016,” said ValiRx.
