Investors, get ready for two impressive companies set to present at our Proactive Investors forum in Toronto next week, one specializing in patent technologies and the other focused on oil and gas in Africa.
The Proactive Investors One2One forums promise to provide direct access to the bosses of some of the nation’s most dynamic growth companies. In six years, Proactive has organized more than 300 events and introduced investors to some of the stock market’s best-performing stock market listed companies.
Indeed, this time is no different. Directors of ITUS Corp (OTCQB:ITUS), formerly known as CopyTele, and Eco (Atlantic) Oil & Gas (CVE:EOG) will be taking the stage.
ITUS, which just recently changed its name to better align with its business strategy, is a company that protects the rights of inventors through patent monetization and patent assertion. ITUS, in Greek mythology, was the God of Protection, and as a result the company found the name appropriate given its core business of building and protecting patented technologies.
The move comes as ITUS enters the next phase in its continuing efforts to position the company for long term success. It currently has 10 patent portfolios in areas such as encrypted cellular communications, key-based web conferencing encryption and other fields.
The encrypted mobile communications patent portfolio covers hardware and software used to encrypt cellular phone calls and other mobile communications, while its ePaper electrophoretic display portfolio covers core electrophoretic technology that is used in eReader devices such as the Nook and the Kindle.
Eco Atlantic Oil & Gas is an oil and gas explorer focused on projects in politically stable and technically de-risked areas in Africa. The company has used its strong government relationships and contacts to acquire major licenses in Namibia and Ghana, respectively, with the management team having successfully acquired, developed and sold resource assets in Africa many times over.
The junior oil and gas play, which counts majors Tullow Oil and Azimuth as its partners, is developing three blocks in offshore Namibia in close proximity to major blocks controlled by Repsol and Tullow. These blocks cover 25,000 square km, and have more than 21.5 billion barrels of prospective resources.
In July, the company also received Ghana Parliamentary ratification of a petroleum agreement for the Deepwater Cape Three Points West Block, offshore Ghana in the Tano Cape Three Points Basin, and adjacent to Tullow's Jubilee oil field, which is currently producing over 100,000 barrels of oil per day.
It also shares an eastern boundary with the former OCTPS Block, a northern boundary with the Eni Cape Three Points Block, and a western boundary with the Hess Deep Water Cape Three Points Block. The contract area is approximately 944 square kilometres in water depth between 800 metres and 2,000 metres.
Partners in the block include Eco Atlantic, which will hold 50.51 per cent through its subsidiary and will be the operator; A-Z Petroleum Products Ghana (A-Z), which will hold 32.14 percent; the Ghana National Petroleum Co. (GNPC) which will hold 13 percent, and GNPC Exploration and Production Co. Ltd., which will hold 4.35 percent.
The agreement is still subject to the execution of a joint operating agreement for the block, among other conditions.
Directors of both ITUS and Eco Oil and Gas will be presenting their plans for advancement in Toronto on September 9th, at the Turf Lounge, 330 Bay Street, for a 5:30pm start. The companies will make a 20 minute pitch followed by a 10 minute inquisition by a roomful of potential investors.

Once both companies have presented, complimentary canapés and beverages are available for 90 minutes during a break-out session, where attendees can mingle with other guests, or ask more questions to the presenters.
We look forward to seeing you there!
