A deal with leading Japanese pump maker Ebara creates a new opportunity in a hitherto fairly closed market for Hayward Tyler (LON:HAYT), boss Ewan Lloyd-Baker explained to Proactive.
Lloyd-Baker said the deal meant the firm would provide key items to the Japanese group, namely boiler circulating pumps, which could be used to open as many as 40 new coal fired power stations over the next decade.
It's one of a number of recent deals, which include the recently completed acquisition of Peter Brotherhood - the manufacturer of steam turbines and gas compressors.

Metal Tiger (LON:MTR) has negotiated a low cost entry into a potentially high upside partnership focused on Botswana’s Kalahari Copper Belt. It is teaming up with ASX-listed MOD Resources to form Metal Capital, with UK firm owning 30% of the joint-venture.
The plan is that, via a 100%-owned local company Tshukudu Botswana Metals, Metal Capital will acquire 14 prospecting licences owned by Discovery Mines, which is now in voluntary administration.

Horizonte Minerals (LON:HZM) said pilot production using ore from its Araguaia nickel project in Brazil produced high-grade ferronickel. Feeding a rotary kiln electric furnace, 160 wet tonnes were processed over a continuous 11-day period.
Nickel recovery was 93% and crucially the end product was commercial. In fact the “ore performance exceeded our original expectations”, said chief executive Jeremy Martin. Horizonte said there were no critical flaws in the process.
There will be nothing left for shareholders at collapsed mobile app firm Globo (LON:GBO) its administrators confirmed today. The group’s listing on AIM will also be cancelled on 1 December.
