There is a certain irony in results from TalkTalk Telecoms coming out on Wednesday, the same day as cyber-security firm Sophos reports.
The thought that breaching the security systems of an information technology company might, quite literally, be child's play, does not reflect well on the company and chief executive Dido Harding will be under pressure to demonstrate the company is responding appropriately to the crisis.
TalkTalk said in an update on Friday that the hackers gained access to 15,656 bank account numbers and sort codes.
On the plus side, it said "only" 4% of TalkTalk customers had sensitive personal data at risk and the 28,000 obscured credit and debit card numbers exposed could not be used for financial transactions.
Shareholders will want to know how much this is all likely to end up costing the company and what has happened that will prevent it happening again.
On the same day, supermarket chain Sainsbury's pushes out its interims, and having recently upgraded profit guidance for the full-year, chances are the statement will be as close as you are likely to get this year to an upbeat results statement from a quoted supermarket chain.
If Sainsbury's last trading statement was a surprisingly buoyant one, the same cannot be said of Burberry, the fashion firm, that is seeing demand in its key Chinese market cool off.
Mobile phone network operator Vodafone failed to operate in its networks when its rivals did and now it must play catch-up, according to David Madden at spread betting firm IG.
Alternatively, it could look around to buy a company that has a better network.
Either way, it is probably in better shape than TalkTalk.
Analysts are expecting this week's half-year results to reveal revenue of £20.1bn and post-tax profit of £465mln, down from £774mln the year before.
