Avation adds 34th plane to its fleet as it buys Boeing 737

No financial details were given, though Avation it paid the market price for an eight-year-old aircraft with five-and-a-half years left on the lease.

Avation (LON:AVAP) is buying a Boeing 737-800NG passenger jet currently on lease to a unnamed, but ‘top tier’ Chinese carrier.

Following the deal, the company’s fleet will number 34.

No financial details were given, though Avation said it paid the market price for an eight-year-old aircraft with five-and-a-half years left on the lease.

"We are delighted to be acquiring our first Boeing aircraft, a B737-800NG, which is a popular type, thereby further diversifying the portfolio of aircraft types owned by the company,” said chairman Jeff Chatfield.

“We are also delighted to be adding another prestigious top tier airline customer to our increasingly diversified portfolio of customers.

“This acquisition is further evidence of the company's continued steps in pursuing a strategy of building the aircraft portfolio, expanding the airline customer base and geographical reach."
