Broker snap, including Abbvie, Valeant Pharmaceuticals, Boeing and Genesee & Wyoming

Genesee & Wyoming was upgraded by Macquarie today....

As well as investors, the pharma sector also caught the eyes of broker analysts on Tuesday.

Abbvie (NYSE:ABBV) is upgraded by Morgan Stanley to 'overweight' from 'equalweight' following last week's expectation beating quarterly numbers.

Conversely, however Valeant Pharmaceuticals (NYSE:VRX) is downgraded by heavyweight Goldman Sachs to 'neutral' from 'buy'.

Macquarie hops onto railway holding group Genesee and Wyoming (NYSE:GWR) upgrading shares in the firm which operates 15,500 miles of track across five countries, to 'outperform' from 'neutral'.

Elsewhere, Long Island head-quartered Astoria Financial (NYSE:AF.) was punted up to 'buy' from 'hold' by broker Sadler O'Neill.

On the downgrade front, Boeing (NYSE:BA), the aeroplane engineer and manufacturer was moved to 'hold' from 'buy' by Standpoint Research.

Also today, Fortune 500 constituent Dicks Sporting Goods (NYSE:DKS) is cut to 'neutral' from 'buy' by Monness Crespi and Hardt.
