U.S. Risers/Fallers: Allergan, Pfizer, Time Warner Cable, PayPal, GoPro, Yelp, MasterCard, Aetna

Below are the main news driven share price changes at 12:04 p.m. in New York on Thursday:

RISERS

Allergan (NYSE:AGN) surged 8.6% to $311.91, while Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) skidded 2.2% to $34.68. The companies confirmed they were in preliminary, friendly talks on a potential merger, a deal that would create the world's largest drugmaker.

Time Warner Cable (NYSE:TWC) advanced 2.2% to $189.38 after the provider of video and high-speed data services reported third-quarter earnings that topped market expectations as it added more residential high-speed Internet customers.

Yelp (NYSE:YELP) rose 6.3% to $23.47 after more local advertisements propelled the operator of consumer review website Yelp.com post a bigger-than-expected 40% rally in quarterly revenue.

MGM Resorts International (NYSE:MGM) rallied 4.4% to $22.96 after the casino operator said it would form a publicly traded real estate investment trust comprising 10 of its properties.

Aetna (NYSE:AET) gained 3.9% to $115.41 after the health insurer reported a 1.5% increase in quarterly revenue, buoyed by membership growth in its government business.

MasterCard (NYSE:MA) added 1.2% to $101.31 after the payments network operator posted a bigger-than-expected quarterly profit as the value of transactions processed on its cards jumped 13%.

FALLERS

GoPro (NASDAQ:GPRO) tumbled 16% to $25.48 after the maker of wearable video cameras reported lower-than-estimated profit and revenue in the third quarter amid growing concerns over the lack of new products for the holiday quarter.

PayPal Holdings (NASDAQ:PYPL) fell 1.8% to $35.88 after the payment services company reported lower-than-expected revenue for the third quarter.
