Gold miner Petropavlovsk (LON:POG) said Sir Roderic Lyne has been appointed as a senior independent non-executive director effective from November 1 this year.
Sir Roderic has been a board member since 2009, when he joined as a non-executive director.
Sir Roderic is chairman of the company's remuneration and HSE Committees.
It comes after last week economist Andrew Vickerman was also appointed as an independent non-executive director.
Vickerman is currently a member of the supervisory board of Trafigura Beheer, an independent commodity trading and logistics house; chairman of Alva Group, which specialises in business reputation intelligence; and chairman of Direct Nickel, an Australian business that has developed technology for processing nickel laterite deposits.
Also on his CV is a 20-year stint with mining colossus Rio Tinto (LON:RIO).
