U.S. Risers/Fallers: Pfizer, Alibaba, JetBlue, Coach, DuPont, Comcast, UPS, Marvell, Ford

Below are the main news driven share price changes at 12:03 p.m. in New York on Tuesday:

RISERS

Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) advanced 2.8% to $35.12 after the largest U.S. drugmaker posted a better-than-anticipated profit in its fiscal third quarter, buoyed by demand for its pneumonia vaccine and breast cancer drug.

Alibaba (NYSE:BABA) rose 3.9% to $79.26. The China-based internet retail giant posted a sharp jump in fiscal second-quarter profit primarily from a one-time gain. It also posted a better-than-expected 32% rise in revenue as it reported progress in making money from sales made on mobile gadgets.

Coach (NYSE:COH) rose 4.1% to $31.57. The luxury goods maker reported profit and sales continued declining in the latest quarter, but it indicated its turnaround efforts are making progress.

DuPont (NYSE:DD) gained 1.1% to $61.04. The chemical giant earned an adjusted 13 cents per share for the third quarter, $0.03 above estimates.

FALLERS

Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) fell 0.8% to $61.70 as the largest U.S. cable operator and high-speed Internet provider reported mixed results for the third quarter.

United Parcel Service (NYSE:UPS) fell 3% to $103.03 after lower fuel surcharge rates and currency impacts propelled the world’s largest package delivery company to generate lower-than-estimated revenue in the third quarter.

Marvell Technology (NASDAQ:MRVL) tumbled 15% to $8.05, after reaching a 3-year low of $7.55. The chipmaker that disclosed an internal investigation into its accounting last month said PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP resigned as its external accounting firm.

Ford Motor (NYSE:F) sank 3.8% after higher taxes prompted the second-largest U.S. automaker to report a third-quarter profit that lagged behind Wall Street expectations.

JetBlue Airways (NASDAQ:JBLU) sank 7.6% to $24.23 after the passenger carrier company said profits jumped in its third quarter, buoyed by lower fuel costs.
