RISERS

Mariana Resources (LON:MARL) up 6.9%. The company has confirmed the completion of a £1.77mln equity funding to support ongoing operations at the Hot Maden project, as well as exploration efforts in Suriname.

Plutus PowerGen (LON:PPG) up 6.8%. The company has awarded management contracts to consult and operate two 20Mwt flexible stand-by electricity plants by Portman Power and Valence Power.

Fidessa (LON:FDSA) up 5.4%. The information services provider said it expected to announce further special dividens when it publishes full-year results in February.

Merlin Entertainment (LON:MERL) up 4.4%. Merlin inked a deal with China Media Capital to build a Legoland park in Shanghai. It already has five attractions in China, with Madame Tussauds in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beiing, and Wung, and the Chang Feng Ocean World aquarium in Shanghai.

FALLERS

Stratmin Global Resources (LON:STGR) down 9.5%. The graphite miner expects two further instalment payments worth a combined £140,000 to come through this week from Bass Metals.

Globo (LON:GBO) down 7.8%. The company has postponed a high yield debt issue, citing tough market conditions.

Metminco (LON:MNC) up 23.9%. Following its strategic mining study, the company said it has received a number of approaches from parties interested in forming a partnership with the company to develop its Los Calatos project in Peru.

Sweett Group (LON:CSG) up 20.5%. The company announced the sale of its Asia Pacific and India businesses for £9.3mln, which will reduce net debt to around £4mln.

Thor Mining (LON:THR) up 16.6%. The miner has received ministerial approval for the acquisition of the remainder of its Spring Hill Gold Project in Australia’s Northern Territory.

ARM Holdings (LON:ARM) up 8.9%. The growth story continues with the chip designer laying to rest fears about slowing growth in the semiconductor market.

Range Resources (LON:RRL) down 10%. A total of 15.7mln unlisted options exercisable at 6.15p on or before 19 October 2015 have expired.

Trinity Exploration (LON:TRIN) up 71%. The company has agreed to sell its interests in the WD-2, WD-5/6, WD-13, WD-14 and FZ-2 licences and related assets to Touchstone Exploration for US$20.8mln. It also agreed a further extension to the repayments of its outstanding US$13mln debt until Friday.

TechFinancials (LON:TECH) up 42.3%. The software developer is setting up a company in the Asia Pacific region with Optionfortune to provide a binary trading platform for businesses.

Transense Technologies (LON:TRT) up 30.4%. The company has sold its IntelliSAW business to US-based Emerson for US$5mln.

FALLERS

Ortac Resources (LON:OTC) down 20%. The firm has raised £400,000 through a placing to fund its development projects in Zambia and Eritrea.

Pearson (LON:PSON) down 15%. The education publisher slashed its earnings expectations on weaker US college enrolments. In the third quarter sales dropped 5% on a constant currency basis, and are 2% down on the year so far.

Home Retail Group (LON:HOME) down 13%. A sharp decline in TV, tablet and white goods sales has hit Argos and may continue into the second half, the company warned.
