ECR targets bonanza grade gold ore shoots beneath Itogon

ECR will outline details of an exploration target beneath the oxidized zone of Itogon within the next few weeks

In less than a month’s time ECR Mining (LON:ECR) will issue an NI43-101 resource update and technical report on its Itogon gold project in the Philippines.

This is expected to point the way forward for further development work, following a drilling campaign that was completed in April, and trenching work that was completed over the summer.

The company had originally anticipated releasing the report in September, but announced at the end of that month that extra time had been needed for “discussions regarding various technical matters” to take place between ECR staff and its consultants.

ECR has now said that when the report does come out it will detail a resource in the main supergene-enriched mineralised area at the surface of Itogon.

In addition, the report will also delineate the potential parameters of a further exploration target beneath the oxides at surface, consisting of epithermal sulphide veins.

The company says that “up to five” sulphidation veins have already been discovered at Itogon.

It argues that “bonanza ore shoots are likely to be present within the vein system.”
