U.S. Risers/Fallers: Zafgen, GE, AMD, Honeywell, Twitter, Schlumberger, SunTrust

Here's a look at the main movers as of 1:33 p.m. in New York on Friday:

RISERS

Yum Brands (NYSE:YUM) jumped 4% to $72.03 after the restaurant chain operator appointed activist investor Keith Meister to its board, raising bets the company may spin off its China business.

General Electric (NYSE:GE) gained 3.4% to $28.98 after the U.S. conglomerate reported a better-than-expected quarterly profit. The company’s businesses producing jet engines and power turbines helped overcome declines in its oil and gas segment.

Twitter (NYSE:TWTR) rose 2.9% to $30.58 after Bloomberg reported that former Microsoft chief executive officer Steve Ballmer took a 4% stake in the company.

SunTrust Banks (NYSE:STI) added 1.1% to $39.97. On an adjusted basis, the regional lender reported 23% profit growth and topped expectations.

FALLERS

Zafgen (NASDAQ:ZFGN) plummeted 43% to $12.09, stretching losses over the past five days to 65%, after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) put a partial hold on the development of the company’s obesity drug.

Honeywell International (NYSE:HON) fell .1% to $96.26, reversing an earlier gain. The industrial conglomerate reported a better-than-expected third-quarter profit as costs dropped, but it posted a revenue miss due to the strength of the U.S. dollar.

Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) slipped 3.4% to $1.90 as the chip maker swung to a fiscal third-quarter loss as revenue fell amid a shrinking market for personal computers.

Schlumberger (NYSE:SLB) fell 4.5% to $72.68 after the world's largest oilfield services provider reported profit nearly halved and revenue fell 33% in the latest quarter.
