Proactive small cap highlights Adgorithms, Kromek Group, Fastjet, and Renewable Energy Generation

A profit warning saw Adgorithms collapse, while new deals saw Fastjet and Kromek higher

Adgorithms (LON:ADGO), a company with an artificial intelligence ad buying system named ‘Albert’, lost two thirds of its value on Friday with a profit warning coming three months after its AIM IPO.

Shares in the company, which floated in June at 133p (raising £27mln and valuing the business at £82.1mln), took a nosedive to as low as 40p on Friday.

Kromek Group (LON:KMK) got a boost, rising about 20% on Thursday, after being selected as the sole supplier of personal radiation detectors to the US Department of Defense, for an anti -nuclear terrorist programme.

Expanding African airline Fastjet (LON:FJET) was also on the rise after revealing a tie-up with global carrier Emirates.

US based specialist Atlantic Coal (LON:ATC) gained nearly 20% on an upbeat trading statement, which production and prices are both moving in a favourable direction.

On Wednesday, Kazakhstan focussed Tethys Petroleum (LON:TPL) revealed more twists and turns in its ongoing takeover saga – as its largest shareholder spiked the offer from Nostrum Oil & Gas.

The same day, Tethys also told investors it had a proposal from a Kazakh group for a new recapitalisation priced at a premium to the Nostrum bid. Existing shareholders could have the opportunity to sell to the buyer, it added.

The market value of Renewable Energy Generation (LON:WIND) - which owns biomass, solar and wind operation in the UK – surged around a third with news that an un-named but “highly credible” and “fully funded” company has offered to buy its assets for a premium price.

It comes less the 24 hours after Climate Energy became the second of two privately owned solar power businesses to close in as many days, apparently as a result of the government’s recent removal of subsidies.
