Machine-to-machine (M2M) communications leader Telit Communications (LON:TCM) said its modules will be deployed in a significant roll-out of smart meters in the Netherlands.

The company continues to ride the wave of the “Internet of Things” (IoT), having secured a commitment valued at more than US$30 million to supply code division multiple access (CDMA) 450 megahertz (MHz) modules to one of the leading smart meter vendors for a Netherlands project.

It was one of a number of big news in the small cap tech space.

Elsewhere, Motive Television (LON:MTV) said it is launching a new, upgraded, TabletTV app in the US.

In other news, Africa-focused airline fastjet (LON:FJET) has signed a sales and distribution contract with global carrier Emirates.

Passengers of the Gulf-based group will be able use its sales channels to book tickets for fastjet’s network using a link between the two airlines’ reservations systems.

To mining – where Asiamet Resources (LON:ARS) said the 2015 drill programme for the Beruang Kanan Main (BKM) deposit in Indonesia is now complete as it released another set of assays that burnish the potential of the resource.

Mineralisation was intercepted in sections from three metres down to 67 metres, returning copper grades of 1.09% to 2.61%.

Meanwhile, Dalradian (LON:DALR TSX:DNA) has raised more than cash than expected through a placing as it moves forward with plans to open a gold mine in Ulster.

Sierra Rutile (LON:SRX) is firing on all cylinders. The latest update, covering the third quarter, revealed it produced its second-strongest ever quarter with output of 33,960 tonnes rutile.

Xtract Resources (LON:XTR) told investors there appears to be more copper in the group’s copper tailings venture, comprising O'Kiep and Carolusberg, than it had previously assumed.

Atlantic Coal (LON:ATC) has issued an upbeat trading update that revealed production and prices are both moving in a favourable direction.

Finally, in the oil sector, shares in SeaEnergy (LON:SEA) rocketed today as the company was shortlisted as a finalist in the Business Innovation – SME category at the Oil & Gas UK Awards held next month.
