Xerox buys health assessment specialist

Xerox (NYSE:XRX) is to acquire a RSA Medical, a provider of health assessment and risk management services to healthcare insurers and life assurance companies.

The RSA Medical management team and its employees will remain with the company Rocco Salviola, founder, president and chief executive officer reporting to Kelly Rakowski, senior vice president of Healthcare Payer Services at Xerox.

Rakowski said: “With this acquisition, we will help health plans educate new enrollees about services available to them and close gaps in care when necessary. We’ll also provide payers with insights into population health trends, and coordinate timely and personal clinical interventions for at-risk individuals and populations.”

No details of the price paid for RSA were divulged.

Shares in Xerox were off 4.3% at US$10.24 in mid-afternoon trading.
