Vail Resorts reports narrower Q4 loss; shares waver

Vail Resorts posts a loss of $70mln in its fiscal fourth quarter.

Vail Resorts (NYSE:MTN) fluctuated on Monday after as the ski-resort operator reported a quarterly loss but stronger revenue.

Shares were trading at $104.31, down 2.9%, at 1:21 p.m. in New York. The stock has gained 14% this year.

Loss was $70.1mln, or $1.92 loss per share, for the three months ended July 31, compared with a loss of $75.4mln, or $2.08 loss per share, a year earlier, the Broomfield, Colorado-based company said in a statement on Monday.

Adjusted losses were $1.69 per share, narrower than the $1.88 loss per share predicted by 11 analysts polled by Capital IQ.

Vail Resorts posted revenue of $162.1mln in the July quarter, also topping the Wall Street consensus of $150.5mln.
