Below are the main news driven share price changes at 12:19 p.m. in New York on Monday:

RISERS

FedEx (NYSE:FDX) gained 1.8% to $148.10. Shareholders of TNT Express NV (OTCMKTS:TNTEY) unanimously approved the planned takeover by the Memphis, Tennessee-based company.

Twitter (NYSE:TWTR) surged 5.5% to $27.75, paring this year’s loss to 23%. The microblogging site named Jack Dorsey, the company’s original chief executive who returned to become interim CEO in June, as its next leader.

Newell Rubbermaid (NYSE:NWL) advanced 1.6% to $41.30 after the Sharpie pen maker said it would acquire Elmer's Products Inc, owner of the popular school glue brand, for $600mln, from investment management company Berwind Corp.

AT&T (NYSE:T) rose 2.3% to $33.40 after the U.S. mobile-phone carrier reached a multi-year agreement with Viacom (NASDAQ:VIAB) for the media giant to continue providing programming to AT&T 's U-verse TV and DirecTV U.S. subscribers.

Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan (NYSE:POT) added 1.9% to $20.89. The fertilizer company withdrew its 7.85bn-euro ($8.8bn) proposal to acquire Germany’s K+S AG amid a decline in global commodity and equity markets.

FALLERS

H&R Block (NYSE:HRB) slipped 1.3% to $36.10, reversing an earlier gain. The largest U.S. tax preparer confirmed that it will buy back about 15% of its shares outstanding for about $1.5bn via a tender offer that expired on Friday, part of a larger capital plan unveiled early last month.

Suncor Energy (NYSE:SU) sank 1.5% to $26.46. Canada's largest pipeline company launched a hostile bid for Canadian Oil Sands (OTCMKTS:COSWF) as the slump in oil prices encourages consolidation in Canada's oil sands industry. Canadian Oil Sands surged 50% to $6.99.
