U.S. Risers/Fallers: Citrix, J.C. Penney, MetLife, Intel, CarMax

Here's a look at the main movers as of 10:50 a.m. in New York on Wednesday:

RISERS

Citrix Systems (NASDAQ:CTXS) jumped 1.7% to $73.38 after Reuters, citing people familiar with the matter, reported the U.S. cloud computing company is making a final attempt to sell itself as a whole before it embarks on asset sales.

J.C. Penney (NYSE:JCP) rose 1.6% to $9.53 after the U.S. department store replaced its chief merchant ahead of the holiday shopping season.

MetLife (NYSE:MET) gained 1.8% to $47.04 after the largest U.S. life insurer said it will buy back as much as $1bn of its common stock to return money to shareholders.

Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) rose 1.1% to $28.99. Bernstein upgraded the blue chip component from "underperform" to "market perform," pointing to signals of a better outlook for the PC market.

FALLERS

CarMax (NYSE:KMX) extended losses for a second day, retreating 2.4% to $58.31. The U.S. autodealer fell 4.7% on Tuesday on the heels of downbeat quarterly results.
