Jack In The Box (NASDAQ:JACK) rose 2.6% to $76.95 as the restaurant chain unveiled a new $200mln share buyback program for fiscal 2016.
FALLERS
American Depositary Receipts of Volkswagen (OTCMKTS:VLKAY) extended plunge, losing 17% to $24.95 as the world’s second-biggest carmaker’s diesel scandal broadened. The stock had lost 17% on Monday.
ConAgra Foods (NYSE:CAG) sank 4.4% to $40.53 after the maker of Bertolli pasta and Hunt’s tomato sauce swung to a loss in the August quarter. Adjusted earnings topped market expectations.
Groupon (NASDAQ:GRPN) fell 1.7% to $4.10. The the top online-coupon provider said it plans to slash about 1,100 jobs globally, as part of a reorganization of its international operations.
General Mills (NYSE:GIS) fluctuated and was last down 0.2% at $56.69. The maker of Cheerios cereal reported a better-than-expected 24% jump in profit for its fiscal first quarter.
Darden Restaurants (NYSE:DRI) fell 1.5% to $69.14 even as the parent of Olive Garden and other restaurant chains earned an adjusted $0.68 per share for its latest quarter, $0.10 above estimates.
