Collegium Pharmaceutical (NASDAQ:COLL) surged 36% to $18.34 after the specialty drugmaker obtained support of two panels of outside advisers to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for an opioid painkiller.
Solera Holdings (NYSE:SLH) jumped 8.9% to a $53.68 after the provider of software to the automobile-claims-processing industry agreed to be acquired by an affiliate of Vista Equity Partners in a deal valued at around $6.5 billion, including net debt.
GoPro (NASDAQ:GPRO) jumped 2.1% to $33.11 after an analyst at Northland Capital said the wearable camera maker would make a "compelling acquisition target" for Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL).
FALLERS
Raptor Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:RPTP) plunged 42% to $6.92 by almost a third after the biopharmaceutical company said its liver drug failed to meet the primary goal in a second mid-stage study.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (NYSE:FCAU) fell 1.4% to $14.36 as the United Auto Workers (AUW) union picked the automaker as its first target in contract negotiations with the Detroit Three automakers, which also include General Motors (NYSE:GM) and Ford Motors (NYSE:F).
Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) fell 0.5% to $651.86. The world’s largest internet search engine has been found guilty of violating competition law in Russia, the Russian news site Interfax reported, citing a spokesperson for the country’s antitrust regulator.
ADRs of Nintendo (OTCMKTS:NTDOY), slid 0.4% to $23.75, erasing an earlier gain. The Japanese videogame maker promoted its managing director to replace its former chief executive officer, who died of cancer last July.
Mylan (NASDAQ:MYL) fluctuated and was last down 0.1% at $48.60. The European drugs group has made a US$27bn offer to shareholders of takeover target Perrigo (NYSE:PRGO).
